This was the painting that inspired the Cats on Bikes series. It was a commission from a woman who had traveled to Amsterdam and wanted me to paint the canals. "See if you can add bikes," she said. I did, and she loved it. But she wanted to know if there was anywhere I could put a cat. The only place I could think of was on the bikes seat. I posted the painting and social media went nuts for it. I thought, hmmmm people love bikes, and people love cats. Why not put cats on bikes?
