My wife and I took a weekend workship at Laguna Gloria in Austin. It was all about painting botanicals. At the end the teacher said, paint anything you want but you only have one hour. It was a lesson in painting loose. No time for tight details, just get as much information down as you need. This is what came out. I loved it, and I love this painting. And I'm not sure why but I haven't done the "you have just one hour" excercise since then. I should.
